Festival Garden 21, 22 from Virtual Quilter

Spring has sprung down under … well, at least the calendar has been turned over. Many of the spring bulbs jumped into action early despite a rather cold winter, and almond blossoms have been and gone.

I think I should plant a creeper on that trellis … or perhaps embroider one!

Festival Garden 17, 18, 19, 20 from Virtual Quilter

I don’t seem to be able to stop thinking about gardens, even when the weather turns cold and damp, but at least I can stay warm with virtual gardening.

I love that interlocking border, which I think was designed several years ago at a quilt exhibition when I was demonstrating some of the things I could do with Electic Quilt, and spending lots of time catching up with fellow quilters.

Another interesting effect around the centre block.

Third time playing with those same blocks, with no central feature. Probably better for a tablecloth rather than a bed quilt, though ...

Festival Garden 16 from Virtual Quilter

I was browsing and wondering what project file would be a good one to share today.

This one jumped out and said ‘Take me’ … we are sanding paint off kitchen cupboards, and though the majority of the wood dust is coming from the doors which are being sanded outdoors, the frames have to be done in situ. The background colour in this design is the colour of every flat surface in our kitchen at the moment, but with any luck the last bits will be done today, everything can go back into the cupboards and then I can do some ...
